A bit smaller? Likely yes. A lot smaller? Nope. On the list of reasons for Skymont area efficiency, AVX512 is closer to the bottom than to the top. Especially if you take into account the possibility of a "double pumped" implementation ala AMD.

Afaik not to latency, but definitely to bandwidth. Besides small (<10B) models no one uses system RAM for LLMs, once you offload to that some parts of a large model, performance tanks very quickly.

I might be wrong, but this doesn't sound right at all. We know part of it is Intel's P core being bad, but if you look at Granite Rapids vs Turin, GNR loses badly in all metrics and has a much lower base frequency. Not all of the difference is architectural imho. At "not 5GHz+" frequencies...

Isn't zen 4 vcache made on N7/N6? Even going N4 would increase density if that's the case. Though it kinda kills one of the purposes of vcache.
