Is 1366x768 really that bad?

That Lenovo Edge I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread lasted about 24 hours in my house before going back. 15.6" with 1366x768 was just not very good looking. Windows text had obvious pixelated lines through it and the image was just not that great. I've now received an E6520 with...

Heh, actually, I am the one who said they did feel somewhat cheap. :) But, I'm glad you like them. I decided to forego my tablet purchase this year and use that "set-aside" money to bump myself up to a Latitude E6520. :) :) Thanks again for everyone's responses.

Thanks for the feedback. The 13" and 14" Edge models got a much better review than the 15" (which I got). I'll have to agree with the reviews regarding the feel, even after one day of use I'd take my Inspiron 8600 over this for build feel (if only I hadn't killed the graphics card...). It...

Advice required.

I guess it's hard to recommend without knowing *what you're going to do with it* Would a netbook suffice? How 'bout one of those fancy new tablets? Slate device? full-blown laptop can do a lot, but what do you need it to do?

SATA 3 vs. 2 vs. 1 real-life transfer rate differences for mechanical HD's?

actually, they both are LED backlight, yet another reason things get so confusing... hadn't thought of the multi-monitor setup..... Thanks for the thoughts, folks. Guess I just need to dig in and do some more serious research.....

inspiron 8600 recognize SSD??

Yeah, was looking them up last night after thinking about Newegg's SSD sale today...and realized it just wouldn't be worth it given their expense and small capacity. Oh well, it was a thought. :)

duh me - not thinking about PATA to SATA problems. I guess some PATA SSD's exist...but now not really sure it would be worth it.... *sigh* maybe I will have to retire this workhorse of mine....

inspiron 8600 recognize SSD??

As the title suggests I have an Inspiron 8600. I was wondering if it could even recognize an SSD if I tried to put one in there. Do older notebook BIOS' have problems recognizing SSDs or would that be a transparent upgrade? I know my i8600 can't recognize HHDs larger than about 100GB for...
