well technically the latest mali gpus support directx so it's "only" a matter of drivers.
oems will never make them tho, it would be up to ARM itself to provide x86 windows drivers, and i don't see ARM interested in going that route just to help push a competitor's product
all in all, it's...
seems like something is moving, finally
http://techtablets.com/2015/07/teclast-9-7-retina-core-m-and-cherry-trail-tablets-coming-soon/
if other chinese oems follow suit then we may see some good, cheap CT products soon
pretty sure i've read many times that intel is ending contra revenue in h1 2015... so it should be done by now, for tablets.
it will however keep contra revenue for phone socs...
plenty... i'd say a handful... of which only a couple have been really officially announced, the rest is just...
i seriously doubt it... CT has basically the same performance of BT, save for the top-of-the-line z8700 that has more GPU power, but the lower end models are probably on par with BT considering the less execution units and lower clock.
plus, BT has been sold heavily discounted thanks to...
as the release of win10 comes near and there are basically no new products based on cherry trail around save for a couple convertibles by lenovo, i am wondering if CT will just be a big failure and oems will just skip it and go straight to the next gen?
pisses me off anyway, i was waiting for...
maybe, but you're giving the atom an 800 mhz advantage by comparing 2 specific models, the lowest end core2 and the highest end atom
architecturally speaking, core 2 is leaps and bounds faster than atom
atom always sucked on peformance because it's an architecture focused on cost/die size.
intel brought it out after the olpc/netbook boom, then decided to use it for tablets/smartphones.
so basically it was and is never meant to be good on performance, unfortunately
also, atom is still...
it makes me wonder how many will make into devices at all.
it's basically july (so h2 2015) and the only product on the market is the surface 3, with just a few more on the horizon.
in the meantime, oems are still launching bay trail stuff...
