Nothing's been verified here, pcgeek11 just posted his opinion. My opinion is if you use it until it doesn't work, there's a risk that it will be too late and some damage is already done to your components. OVP and other protections aren't 100% reliable and probably become somewhat less...

Cheap phone vs expensive phone

Expensive phones, if paid by employer :cool:. Cheap phones, if paid by me. Although 32GB internal storage is minimum. 16GB doesn't cut it and using an SD card is a PITA.

X5470(mod) and P5QL PRO need suggestion for psu.

I don't see how you could get to 331W without a heavily overclocked CPU or a much more powerful graphics card. But, a decent 450W unit would still handle a 331W load just fine (though the PSU fan would be noisy)

There are no "local made" computer power supplies. They're all made in factories, mostly in China. Surely it has some info on the label regarding its brand or manufacturer? In any case, with such a high 5V capacity, that sounds like an outdated PSU. PSU calculators tend to overexaggerate...

Case fans that aren't $20!

Arctic BioniX F120 PWM is excellent value (only $13-14 a piece with 6 year warranty) and super quiet with a wide RPM range. Haven't tried these myself yet but they look very promising. You can also easily string them together with the included connectors, so you could have say 3-4 of them all...

Semi passive PSU, however...

You could also consider quiet but not semi passive PSU's. I have EVGA 650GQ in my current build, it is not semi passive but case fans on low RPM still make more noise. Semi passive seems overrated for PSU's because they use large fans that are pleasant and quiet at low RPM. Semi passive...

I think it's mostly due to cost and convenience reasons. SECC sheets are cheap and easy to bend, cut, pierce etc. The ideal material for a case, from the manufacturer's perspective. That it happens to shield from EMI is probably pretty irrelevant in the consumer segment. Almost all home users...

First gen i5/i7 power supply selection

How used are those power supplies? Is either of them much less used up than the other? Are you sure the Zalman has two 6-pin connectors? Realhardtechx and PCspecs say it has one, which makes more sense to me given the low wattage.
