Computer refuses to turn on

The other day my friends computer just refused to turn on. Pushing the power button lights up the front LED for half a second, and thats it. No beeps, no fans spinning, nothing. Can I pretty much assume its the power supply thats gone? Its one of those cheap PSU's that come with a $30 case.

Sony Ericsson K750i - Bad Reception!

If you're using Tmobile, then the 850mhz band isn't going to help you unless you're roaming. Tmobile uses 1900mhz only. Only AT&T/Cingular uses both 1900/850mhz. The phone might be defective.

My Radeon 9800 just died. Any clues what might be wrong?

Thanks for the help guys. Was just wondering if there was something specific I could look for, like a blown cap. I don't see any burn marks, so I guess a chip somewhere just decided to go. I just feel so bad throwing this guy away :(

Like I said, already tried it in another machine. It won't POST there either. What I don't understand is why it would suddenly not turn on one day. If I was gaming for 3 days straight and the card overheated and died, then I might understand. But for it to just break while the computer was...

My Radeon 9800 just died. Any clues what might be wrong?

Had this R9800 for a good 3 years now. Its always worked great. One day I turn on my PC, all fans spin and computer powers up, but no POST beep, no BIOS, just black screen. After a lot of diagnosing, I took out the video card and put in an old card I had laying around - and it boots fine...

In my experience, take the system requirements, and just throw them out the window. Then look at the recommended specs, and use them as the system requirements.

WPA Key Rotation

My wireless router is currently set for WPA encryption. There is a field that reads "key rotation", and it wants a value in seconds. However, the instructions say that to disable key rotation, enter a value of zero. The router came default with this set to zero, and thats how its been running...

whats the deal? how come i cant find a wii

They are having a shortage because they are still very in demand. Not so much demand for the PS3, though. My friend had a hell of a time trying to pick up a Wii after he tried mines. In the end he ended up camping outside the Nintendo world store, where they get new units in each morning...

Anybody using Opera?

I was decently impressed with Opera, but the quirky way it handles tabs (when you close a tab, it goes back to your previously viewed tab, and not the next one in line, with NO way to change that) keeps me from using it.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Gamespot Review

Whats wrong with MIDI? (i'm sure it doesn't actually use MIDI, more likely the systems own sequenced music). Final Fantasy games always use sequenced music, and I don't ever hear anyone complain about the lack of quality in a Final Fantasy soundtrack!

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Gamespot Review

Ehh who cares what he rated it? If I ever wrote a review of Halo i'd probably give it a 4/10. More than likely i'd be hung from a tree. His biggest complaint seemed to be about some of the graphics anyway.

Don't forget fighting in a room that looks exactly like the last 10 rooms you came from, to the point where you can tell where you are going and where you came from. Seriously, I don't even understand why the game got the ratings it did. Had any other game did something similar, it would have...
