I can't figure out how to unlock the framerate; it's constantly at 62FPS; and there is no equivalent file to UT 2007 I can find; the user settings change nothing as far as the FPS cap.
Well I mean people can game on a lot less, for much less. Even a 980Ti is fine for 1080p; I've got 3 Bloomfield and 1Gulftwon CPUs from the 2008-2010 era that handle current games pretty much as well as my 2600X with 980Ti/1070/1070Ti .
Except VRAM is not the only potential factor, a gpu could have 30GB of VRAM and still chug if it's not fast enough or if the game is just badly put together, seen both scenarios with an 880M 8GB in multiple games and then with 1080Ti in Gears of War 5; chug and stutter central.
Nvidia keeps increasing revenue every year; this will not affect them one bit. They have majority market share and are the premium products at the same time; an enviable position. Their marketing strategy has seen nothing but continued success.
What I'm seeing is DX10 is more where the gap is; DX9 my 920 and Ryzen are very close in Far Cry 2, DX10 is where Ryzen takes a commanding lead in Far Cry 2 and Just Cause 2, DX11 they are close again on average. I'll probably go back to ETQW and see what the spread is there.
