when can we expect prices to drop?

Well, most of the x800xl boards have dropped. The ASUS, MSI, and Powercolor were over 360 in April. Now Newegg has them for under 300. The cheapest x800xl have not drop though. Also of note is that memory prices have fallen.

What fan do you use on your XP120?

I'd consider the L1A but every place i've check is OOS. (that is every place i'm comfortable buying from.) The Vantec's I have are quiet enough for me, I suppose 2 more db is not audibly distinguishable without a well setup side by side test. BTW, do you know what sidewinder charges for...

Best Time to Buy a New Video Card

I don't believe we will see the 6800 series fall too much. It is more likely they will be replaced by 7xxx series with 8/12/16 pipes. I read that the new series will be fabbed on a smaller geometry process making it cheaper to produce in volume. Has anyone tracked the 5900/5950 or 9800...

What fan do you use on your XP120?

xylem, what's your ambient room temp and case temp? I live in the desert and it costs too much to cool the house down below 78F. I've actually been thinking of building a case out of an old deep freezer.

What fan do you use on your XP120?

I'm considering getting an XP120 with a Vantec Stealth Pro (53 cfm @ 28db) or Nexus D12SL-12 (36cfm @ 22.5db). I'd like the quieter fan but will that be enough air flow to reach 2.4GHz on a Venice 3000+. I really don't want to get a louder fan than either of those. I currently have 2 Vantec's...

Thanks Frown66. I was intending to order from NewEgg, but I've seen many posts from MonarchJoe here. That adds to my comfort level. Also, the two games they are offering are games I'm likely to play. The Value VX is about $10 more than NewEgg and the PowerColor x800xl is way higher so I think...

OCZ Ram + Venice

Are you building a system as an upgrade from your current? If so, it doesn't look to be much of an upgrade. If you're a gamer, just get a 6800gt APG for under $300 and call it good. If not consider the Value VX line or the Patriot LLK, and use a divider to keep it close to 200MHz with low...
