System hanging during DMI pool initialization

It was kinda difficult to run scandisk since I wasn't able to boot it even with a floppy at first. It was a new harddrive (and new everything). But after so much trouble, replacing this and that, including the motherboard, I decided to use another boot disk, and it worked! We've focused on those...

System hanging during DMI pool initialization

I'm having a problem booting my newly assembled PC; it hangs during DMI pool initialization. A couple of tries, I saw "DMI pool initialization..success." But it stops there. It's a FIC 1st mainboard AN11 motherboard. CPU=1900AMD Athlon. Tried booting with minimal components. Same problem. Tried...

Need help w/Hotmail's "timeout"

Did you try OPTIONS, ADDITIONAL OPTIONS, SESSION EXPIRATION? You can specify 2hrs to NEVER. Mine is set to NEVER (never expire).

Help me! MsWord keeps crashing!!!

Temporary files are loaded when you install new programs or when you download files from the internet. Sometimes some of those temp files gets corrupted or corrupts other programs. I've certainly experienced that a few times in some of the Office applications. Most of those temp files you don't...

Help me! MsWord keeps crashing!!!

Try deleting all your temp files first. See if any of those currupted Word. If you have Norton Utilities, delete files in Protected Recycle Bin, too. See if that works.

It would help to know what application you are downloading it from (internet explorer, ICQ, or other applications) and your operating system. If you're asking about downloading from IE using Windows XP (maybe the same in Win2000), it defaults to a temporary internet folder under "document and...

Certifications?

Along with classes towards certification, go for intership in that field...as much as your schedule permits..as much chance as employers give you to do it. That would give you some experience. I've had an intern who finished vocational computer course, and got a job right after graduation.

Where to put certifications at on resume

For certifications that are education-related, you can put them under education. If you decide to keep them under "Education," try to make them more visible. I do a lot of recruitment myself, and when we go through a few dozen resumes, it's easy to miss those highlights.

Problems installing an OS w/ Shuttle SS51

Also, check if CDROM is recognized when you boot, if not, check your connections first. If it still fails to boot, after checking on Workin's advice, use a bootdisk on a floppy and install Win98 from there. I had an original Win98 CD and for some reason, it wouldn't boot up fr that either, so...

Very Quiet Modem Dialer

i agree. not me, necessarily. the person who we built this system for may wanna hear it. doesn't it sound like the sound of success when it works? :)

Very Quiet Modem Dialer

I can't figure out why my model dialer doesn't make a sound when it dials on this one system we built. Volume setting on the control panel, modem, is set to almost max. running on win2000. any ideas?

A quick HTML/JPG question! please help me!

not sure why it does on some, and not on others...but you can right click, then disable the "image bar." and i'm not really sure if it's IE6 feature or xp. you can also disable/re-enable it through internet options.

Monitor cable

If you fix it, I'd like to know how you did it. I have exactly the same monitor model and it just stopped working. Not that old either. I was about to throw it away.
