There's a car service app in NY/Boston/SF and some other cities called Uber, you can request a cab / black car service from your iphone/android. Its an alternative to hailing / waiting for a taxi. Coupon's for $10 in credit.

laptop hard drives

hey guys, been a long time since ive posted. used to follow hardware much more closely (when i was in college) but haven't had the time recently. i have a laptop thats dying, i want to swap hard drive. its an dell inspiron e1405, how do i find out what type of laptop hard drives are compatible...

freezes after a while!

Hey guys - I have a dell inspiron 530 desktop, core2 duo, running xp pro. after a while (maybe an hour or two, usually happens when im on firefox/internet, but still trying to figure it out) windows (including all other apps) will freeze up entirely, except that the mouse will still move. then...

sempron vs. celeron?

I'm looking at the v2000z compaq laptop, vs. other cheap celeron based laptops. is there a real difference in performance? im looking for a laptop for my parents, just for basic web stuff / email, etc. after rebate the v2000z is $400. i've seen other similarly priced celeron based laptops. what...

installing ram on laptops

hi everyone - i just got a dell e1405 with a gig of ram, am planning on getting a compaq v2000z laptop for my parents. how easy is it to install ram on each of these machines? i've built/modified hardware in my pc's, but have never messed with a laptop before. is it typically easy to do?

Friday 4/22 Dell $750 off $1499 on Laptops AGAIN

So the 600m 1.5 sxga+ 256/40 with the dvd burner for $776. Its pretty light, just 5 lbs. What do you guys think? The dvd+-rw with DL makes this really nice, I think.

Which Digital Camera to Buy?

How is the focus on all of these? I know someone that has a sony dcs p72, and it can focus in almost no light (the autofocus lamp is very effective) altho the picture quality isn't so great. How well do these focus in really low light?

im thinking of gettin a laptop and seriously considering getting this one...but dont know too much about laptops...how easy is it to install extra ram onto this machine? would it make more sense (i.e. cheaper) to order it with 128mb ram and add more myself or just get extra ram installed by hp?
