I am 100% against PhysX because it is closed and proprietary. I seriously think the main reason why Nvidia doesn't want PhysX to run on AMD hardware is because AMD hardware might actually run PhysX better than on Nvidia hardware. I have thought this for awhile.
I believe it was the 3870...
Off-topic --> I really like your signature! Great stuff! If only every American knew this.
On-topic --> If you are buying a GPU for GPGPU applications, your best bet is undoubtedly an Nvidia based GPU. The new Fermi architecture was built with GPGPU computing in mind. I'd actually say it...
Did you seriously think that DX11 is vendor specific? Wow... The reason why 95% of the GPUs on steam are AMD is because AMD has had DX11 GPUs out since September of 2009, and they have since brought to the market a complete line from high-end to low-end and even laptop DX11 GPUs. AMD did a...
If your friend is just going to be using Photoshop, I'd recommend a 5750. It has a GB of VRAM and will handle OpenGL GPU acceleration just fine for Photoshop.

The main advantages over Cypress will be improving the geometry shaders and tessellation...
Quit trying to "attempt" a personal attack. The quotes you quoted of mine don't imply anything about a fanboy. I did not talk down one company, and I did not talk up any company in any of the quotes. That was a lame attempt. lol
You are breaking the TOS. And hawkdawg, I'd listen to the...

That was the worse Google translation ever!!! I thought I was going to go crazy trying to read that..
I'm very excited and ready to do another upgrade :)
Point taken. They don't do SLI/CF testing in reviews for the heck of it. They do it because there is a market out there for it. They didn't create SLI/CF for the heck of it. They did it to improve performance. Many people who opt for the absolute top-end obviously want a lot of performance...
