Is 350W enough???

350W is plenty. I have an enermax 350 Whisper myself which has been running like a top for like 4 years now. I built a new system with this: AMD 64 3000+ 2GB Ram Asus Mobo 2 HD - 120GB, 60GB DVD burner floppy FX 5600 128MB vid card Nvidia Soundcard I run cancer research all day...

Serial ATA much faster than Normal ATA?

Heh, actually I had to RMA 2 of these 160GB drives before this one. But, this one has been goin for 2 years now, so I trust it now. As far as raid0, I'm just wondering if the HD would perform any better that would increase my video encoding at all, but cpu encoding is really slow on videos...

Serial ATA much faster than Normal ATA?

I do mostly video encoding with a regular ATA configuration. I have an "old" WD1600JB 8MB western digital 7200 RPM 160GB HD that the videos are written to/from. Would I see any performance increase by switching to a serial interface? I use an AMD 2100+ with 768MB ram... Thanks all

What was your first Computer?

I got you beat. Although I sort of owned a 486 DX4 100mhz AMD for a while, the first one I purchased with my own money was: P90 16MB DRAM 850MB HD 4X CD ROM 2MB ATI video card 14.4kbps modem (28.8 was too expensive!) Ensoniq elite sound card (this wasy waay before they were purchased)...

Does Athlon 64 REQUIRE PC3200 mem?

Great, thanks guys. As for my mission critical stuff, its just stuff that needs to not get corrupted on my hard drive. If the system crashes with the pc3000 ram @ 3200 I guess I'll buy some 3200 or something. Thanks again

Does Athlon 64 REQUIRE PC3200 mem?

I'm not a big fan of overclocking. I run mission critical stuff, but I guess if the HD isn't overclocked because the system bus isn't overclocked, I suppose it won't be a problem. Do you know if the the memory mentioned above usually overclocks to 200mhz? Thanks

Does Athlon 64 REQUIRE PC3200 mem?

Hey all, I have an athlon 1600+ with 768MB of PC3000 RAM (256 OCZ PC3000, 512MB stick of Kingston Hyper 3000). Anyway, I bought this memory over 2 years ago so please dont call me dumb or anything - at the time this was the fasted memory. Anyway, i was thinking of upgrading to an athlon 64...
