I'm late to the party but have enjoyed this thread.
I can only think of a couple times when the network was at fault in 12+ years.
One company was using point to point unlicensed wireless links for their WAN and had all kinds of interference from other wireless.
I hesitated and the price went up. I bought last one at B&H after watching my order sit for 3 days at Amazon even though the drive was in stock. I'm using the 128GB M4 in my HTPC for the O/S and couldn't be happier.
I had what soundslike a similar issue with some circuits from ATT. We had 100Mb and 1Gb at the hub site. Traffic shaping is suggested but that still did not resolve the issue for us. In the end ATT had to adjust a setting on the Cisco Metro E switches they provided. I think it had something...
I have not worked with this specific app but I had another one that we wanted to connect to our domain. We played with it and I setup a certificate and we only used ldaps and I only allowed their IP's. I didn't use it in the end and I'm still not sure I was really comfortable with it. I...
Thanks for the tool deal! I bought a house recently so I'm always looking for tools.
I think thedarkwolf's description of the noise level is pretty accurate based on my experience with both types of compressors.
Good find! I paid about the same price for the 4GB version about a year ago. Like others said it is great for the gym and I also connect in my car through the line in on my deck and that also works well. The battery seems to last a long time for such a small unit.
I would agree about the cabling certification. About a year ago i was sent out to replace a network that consisted of 10Mbit hubs(yes I said hubs) with Cisco 3560 10/100 switches. I put the switches in and one part of the network ran worse than before! Luckily they were managed switches so...
I just helped a friends business the other day with a U-Verse install. The installer was not aware that internet was available without the TV or that it was being installed in a business but it is and has worked great so far.
Spidey,
Do you still see many switches with the CatOS or hybrid OS? I have 1 cat 6500 where I'm at now that is hybrid and saw one 4000 with CatOS but that's it in the last 2 years.
I have a GA-EP45-UD3R and have (2) 2GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix.

This combo has been running fine for about 3 months now.
Thanks I ordered one and picked it up Sunday. They never pulled my drive from the shelf. It was funny to watch the guy pick through a bin of RAM before realizing he didn't know what a hard drive was and to ask another guy for help. I have a 74GB raptor in an older PC and it does make a big...
