The XFX GTX280 @ $450, is it worth getting now?

The price is about right, in Hong Kong, it's now selling for $3300 - 3600 hkd, roughly around $450 usd. It doesn't look like there will be potential to go any lower for a short period.

Single Core Ok for File Server?

I have been using a celeron 2.8g as a file server and it runs just fine, was thinking about getting a e2180 or something just for the sake of less heat. For some reason, that prescott can be really hot sometime.

Why do I always have to reboot my router whenever I leave home & come back???

sounds like router overheating issue to me, I used to have a dlink, a netgear, and they both have the problem after using for a long period (a bit over a year). While rebooting fix mine, but then the problem came back soon enough I let them idle.

A formula for calculate daily leave quota?

Does anyone know a way to calculate daily leave quota? condition is: Each employee has different skills Some employees have multi skills Each skill must have some leave quotas We can't have all people on leave because each day there is a limit.

I am not quite sure about your problem but I am paying $12.99 a month for DSL and I am pretty impressed by it. I get about 1.4 for 1.5mb service. I don't watch TV that much so having cable or not doesn't really bother me. I would say Internet is more important than TV, at least in the age with IPTV.

not really surprised by it, seeing these are the only 2 companies making high performance graphics chipsets. It wasn't like the old times when there are s3, matrox, rendition, 3dfx, powervr.... (well, some still exist but already lost a huge part of their market shares)

8800 GTX w/ 24' or 30' LCD

Would rather run the game in native resolution than having it stretched up. I personally use a 19" and think it's pretty small, I think a 24" will be very ideal. 30", like someone said before, will take up much desk space, it's too big to be looked at; you probably want to sit on sofa to use...
