In a normal fireplace with normal wood, on average what temperature would a plate be under the burning wood?

I think the mass of the wood would only come into play only under the circumstance where it is not enough fuel to put the plate into thermal equilibrium. I don't think we need to worry too much about the chemical composition of the wood, but more so rather the material that the plate is made...

Deffinatly buying a laptop.

The two Asus notebooks that Brain posted are probably better because, jadbox1's notebook is more of a DTR. Have you thought of the macbook pro? It also has a x1600.

Quadcore NoteBook with 8800gt go!

What if Asus came out with a Quad-core and an 8800GT at 7Lbs and a 2 hour battery life? Would you be willing to pay well for it? Personally, i wish manufacturers would make Tablet with some decent graphics like an x1600.

Memory for Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro

You need to look for memory labeled that it is compatible with Apple Mac's. Thankfully, Newegg does this for us with this. I'm not sure on how picky the new Mac's are now, but you might not be able to just throw in another stick of 1Gb. You might have to buy a matching pair. Hopefully, someone...
