Wife does primarily photo editing and web editing on her PC, got her dual 4K displays. She'll play an occasional video game, but don't mind running games at 1080, no need to game at 4k for her occasional use. What GPU will get me there? Alternatively I'm not opposed to buying one GPU per...

were you able to get your screws holding the backplate on tight? mine were wiggling around...the HS itself is sturdy and tight since the synch down points are lower than the CPU but ...but was still concerning.

my "motherboard" temp is at 30*C, i dont know where that sensor is. it's an antec P180B, with a front fan, top fan, and rear exhaust fan plus one on the HS. I clean the dust screens regularly. 30*C does seem high but i dont know where that sensor is. I'm using Asus' tools to monitor temps...

for grins i went back to stock BCLK and temps are the same...as expected a minor increase shouldn't bump temps up that much. i'm aware of what upping the BCLK does; i was running 105BCLK and a 44x multi on stock voltages, prime stable but heated up like a mofo... spread should be OK but...

So i got my I5 2500K and saw idle temps around 35*C with a minor OC of 3.9Ghz (all i did was up the BCLK to 105) If playing Crysis i'd see load temps well into 65 C. I decided if iw as going to do any overclocking i needed a new cooler so did some reading and decided to spring for the...

Are P67 & H67 enough to put you off the unlocked i5-2500K SB?

meh...i got over it. Does it suck i can't use the IGP with my p67? yup...was i really gonna use it anyways? nope...QS is the only thing lost, but i'm a quality whore, and the tests i saw from AT I wouldn't have used it anyways. I'll wait twice as long for a better quality transcode...

Glad I skipped Sandy Bridge

If it's something they enjoy then it's no big deal...i used to rebuild my system every 4-5 months when new stuff was coming out, i enjoyed it, it was a hobby, and didn't cost a lot of money since i was always buying at good prices. Now on the other hand i don't have time to do that anymore...

When do the Sandy Bridge i3's come out?

Buddy of mine is wanting to build a budget HTPC, and really liked the pricepoint of the i3. But I have yet to see any available. Anyone know when they'll be out?

Will you be going 2600K or 2500K?

Just curious what others are planning to purchase. at roughly $100 difference i don't think the extra threads, or cache are worth it. benchmarks show the two CPU's running nearly identical, even anands review showed the i5 on top of the i7.
