I saw that, but that doesn't mean those same problems won't arise on the new motherboard. :)

What power Supply to get??

Can't go wrong with either corsair or PC Power & Cooling, so I can't argue with either of those choices. They're both great power supplies. OCZ, Silverstone, Seasonic and Tagan are also great brands to choose from.

So you're getting power, the computer turns on, but you're not getting any video? In other words, the monitor is not turning on? I'm still trying to figure out exactly what's going on. Ok, even though I'm still not positive as to what your problems are I am going to give you a suggestion...

Power Supply reccommendation for older computer

How much money are you willing to spend and what's the output of the power supply you've got now? I'm guessing the psu you've got now is around 300-350 watts? For your needs I'd say you've got a lot of options, 3 of which I'll give you links to below...

which motherboard to get?

In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with any of those motherboards. However, in terms of which chip set - I'd say you should go for the 680 or P35 chip set. Evga motherboards are fast becoming a favorite of many computer enthusiasts, so I think it's good that you're considering them...
