Are the ones you can click and view, only media files? If so, go into the phone USB settings with the USB3 cable hooked up and see if it's in MTP transfer mode and if so, switch it to MSC mode. Another alternative for the future is if it has a mSD card slot which I assume it does, store this...

Question Is this monitor worth the $50 more?

I'd start with the basics, run Prime 95's large in place FFT's test for a couple hours, monitoring CPU temperature and if it reports errors or crashes doing ONLY that with the system. I'd boot to memtest86+ and test memory for a few hours. I'd leave it sitting in the bios to check voltages or...
