i just got hold of an older thinkpad 600E. i would like to install a fresh copy of windows xp on it, but i can't get the 24x CD-Rom to become the boot device.
i've tried through the bios and it ignores the CD in the drive. the notebook does not have a floppy drive.
please help.

i want to install a fresh copy of windows xp on my old tinkpad 600E, but i don't know how to make it boot from the cdrom drive. i've googled tihs online to no avail.

i got my soundtrack today, but no DVD. i called to make sure what the deal was and they said it would take a couple of weeks for the DVD to get sent out, with free shipping. not too bad, lets hope it gets here soon.
In any case, I had recently purchased a 40 GB Creative Zen Xtra at a great price but had to return it as i was disappointed by its sound quality, battery life and performance. Because Dell DJ is also made by Creative and appears to be a very close relative of Zen, I decided to bypass it too...

i'm going to do a clean reformat of my computer's hard drive. i know how to back up data for all of my programs with the exception of Outlook Express. is there a way to backup emails/settings/folders (any or all?). tips for restoration would also be very helpful. thanks in advance...
