um...NO! Like I said in my previous posts both on-board chips are hardware based RAID controllers EXCEPT for RAID-5, which is obvious as you can't find a hardware based RAID-5 controller for under $300. And you don't have to explain slipstreaming to me! But thanks for the (((offer)))...

Perhaps, but I visit other forums, and you ask a question and you'll get virtually instant, numerous responses, similar to a chatroom. Yet whenever I visit computer forums they are pretty much DEAD. Anand is by far the best computer forum, but still no comparison to the other non-computer...

I have the MSI K8N Diamond Plus, which has 2 SATA controllers, the Nvidia (4 ports) and the Silicon Image 3132 (2 ports) I have 2 Raptors in Raid 0 and 2 WD Caviar RE2 WD4000YR in Raid 0. When I first built the system I couldn't get the Raptors to boot from the SI controller, but they...

Ocz memory problems

According to your motherboard manual 2 sticks of dual channel DDR-400 should be in DIMM 1 and DIMM 3. But even if you had them installed in DIMM 1 and 2, they should still be recognized, they will only run at DDR 333, but they should still be recognized right? Perhaps the other isn't seated...

I know the problem! The drives aren't formatted. How do you format drives in XP? Can I do it from command prompt? FDISK? :lol

Just got a MSI K8N Plus, 2 Raptors and 2 400GB hardrives. I have the Raptors at RAID 0 running on the NVIDIA RAID controller, and the 2 400GB drives at RAID 0 on the SIlicon 3132 RAID controller. I created both arrays before I installed XP. I loaded a driver up for the silicon controller...

Good place to buy SATA cables?

thanks for the help I went to best buy, surprisingly they had sata cables, but not surprisingly they were $20 bucks a piece! :lol I needed four, so I would have shelled out $80 bucks for cables that cost a TOTAL of less than $4 bucks to MAKE Luckily I found this badazz computer store...
