Yes, unfortunately, i did try - i only have 2 usb ports on my thinkpad laptop t42 - each of them do not work. any other suggestions is appreciated

Software Install Comparison Utility?

Thanks for the reply. A 3rd party app would be most beneficial. Looking at an uninstall.log will only tell me what the software says it installed... but what if it installed some other files that it didn't write to the uninstall.log?

Connecting 5 Concentrator's together to make one large one?

Hi All, I have 5 SMC 3812TP Concentrator's. Would it be possible to "daisy-chain" the 5 of them together to create a "60-port" switch (12 ports, 5 switch)? Would this make the network slower? What could I buy to create the daisy-chain? Is this even possible? Thanks

Language Translation Program?

Joe, thanks for the link, but i need something that translate word documents or text files - the altavista and other translators can only do 150 words at a time ( I have over 20 pages in some files) Thanks for the additional support

Well, if you guys really want to know why I want to know how long the hd takes to stop spinning.. it's because I am doing some timings on various computers. Can't really tell you why , but what I am doing is putting the computer in standby and hibernate and timing their speeds. I want to know...
