GTX280 audio over HDMI

Thanks for the replies. it turns out, or it at least seems that way, that I had to turn on an option in the BIOS for PLUG and PLAY...weird. Thanks again :)

Here is the setting That is the only SPDIF that is displayed and it is only to my Z5500 via SPDIF through the rear of the mobo :(

Hi, I've just today thought about using the DVI-HDMI adapter and S/PDIF cable on my GTX280 and for some reason I cannot get the audio working. I have attached the audio cable from the S/PDIF out on my mobo to the audio port on the GTX280...is there something else I have missed? (I have tried...

What to do with QX6850?

thanks for the replies. :) my initial intention was to keep it as i already have a buyer for my Q6700 if i so choose to keep the QX, but im wondering i'd be spending the extra $100 for no extra performance whatsoever...there's that issue and the issue of nehalem out in sept/oct. my intention...

P5E sound problem?

Asus P5W DH Deluxe sufficient for Crossfire (2x4850) or will it bottlneck?

i was also wondering about the same thing. according to tweaktown's review, even the PCI-E 2.0 8x (effectively 16x PCI-E 1.x) lanes are a bottleneck. i am still awaiting other reviews regarding this issue.

nVidia's next gen cards...

im not sure if it is necessarily wishful thinking. i think that NV probably had it something in the works, but didn't really see the need to release anything that would blow their own products out of the water. now that they are on the defensive, it seems they have no choice. edit: spelling

ya, i was looking at those, but its the SATA connections that bug me lol. i first bought my P5WDH thinking that i would never max the southbridge connections....i was wrong. same thing here; i don't see myself immediately using 6 SATA ports, but i do see myself needing more in the near future...

a decent raid card is at least $500 afaik. i was thinking about crossfire in the future and the CPU will be my current one (Q6700) and i am hoping to get more of an OC from it. Thanks :)
