windows xp network problem - please help!!

I am using XP pro SP1 which is connected to domain server (windows 2000 server). This server has proxy server that requires authentification. Since I got on this network, whenever I try to install or uninstall program, xp hangs (doesn't crash) for a while (sometimes longer than 5 minutes)...

Memory question

I am considering a memory upgrade from my 256MB DDR 400. From the point of view of overall system performance.. should I go for 1g of Samsung DDR 400 CAS 2.5 or 3 ram or Dual channel 2x256 CAS 2 ram or just add another generic 256mb DDR 400 and maybe run it at dual channel? I am not too much...

I cracked my Duron 600

Well I guess I'll need a new CPU.. If can't be OCed.. no good for me.. but I am poor student... so I guess I'll go for another 600...

I cracked my Duron 600

Darn.. I was applying artic silver.. and my orb cracked edge of the cpu core... strange thing is I can still boot at 600, but can't overclock anymore.. won't do anything other than 600.. I wonder what is going on... do any of you know why this is happening? if it is not running at all.. I'll...

HI I had the same problem.. endless loop of long beeps.. it was real pain.. running to the place I bought the MB then finding out that it wasn't MB.. wasn't memory either, it ended up being the CPU.. once I got new CPU everything was fine..

BIOS Error when OCing

HI I have Duron 600@850 stable with Abit KT7 MB.. But whenever I max the voltage to 1.85V and set the Multipler to 9.5*10 I get bios error(I forgot the exact message, some kind of checksum error)..and alarm sounds. When this happens I have to turn off the comp and take the battery out of MB to...

3Dmark2000: your highest score on GeForce 2 MX????

I have very strange 3Dmark score.. 1767 with Prophet MX OCed to 210m/210c and Duron 600 -> 800.. I am running Windows ME with all the latest updates I can think of.. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?? thanks

Did I kill my Duron?????

yeah.. I have my heatsink on.. and temp reading in bios is about 47C although it went up to 53C when I had it at 1.7V See.. I can access bios if I hit the delete key before it starts detecting my drives and hangs..

Hi Guys.. I really need some help.. I was trying to overclock my Duron 600 on A7V MB.. and After unlocking it with my pencil I tried 1.7V at 700 and started booting, but it stopped booting process after detecting my hardrive and DVD player....just hangs.. I tried reset button.. and it goes...
