cpu-z memory question

yeah. if i set set it to auto i can't select the memory multiplier. There's something called the host clock...which i think is the FSB... but there's something also called a base clock...which also seems to be the fsb. this new stuff confuses the heck out of me.

When I turn on the computer, I hear the fans activate for 1/4 a second and then they stop. The pause lasts for about 2 seconds. Afterwards, everything fires up and runs normally. It's like the capacitors or something need a moment to get charged up. Is the pause when I turn on the...

cpu-z memory question

by default timing, do you mean 11-11-11-28? sometime CR shows up as 1T other times 2T, and there's not an option on my mobo to manually control it. I have a biostar tpower x79. i've tried 13-13-13-30 @1.5v, and i still can't push the memory multiplier any higher. with 9-10-10-24. i...

does the 833.3 mhz mean that i'm running at 1666.6 mhz ddr? I have the samsung low voltage ram. I'm having a hard time oc-ing them.

mushkin recommends 1.65v. i'm not sure people think they know better than the engineers who designed the ram.

Thoughts on Intel i7 3820 and Mushkin Redline 2133

I want to build a system around the Intel i7 3820 core. I am looking at the reviews for the Mushkin Redline 2133 ram, but all the reviews are from people with AMD setups which confuses me. I intend to overclock. Would these ram be appropriate for my setup.
