You're right, considering all the bloatware that comes with the X-Fi card among other things I decided to go with the ASUS Xonar DX.

SB Audigy 2 ZS or X-Fi PCI-E

I have an Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and thinking about maybe upgrading to the PCI-E X-Fi soundcard. Anybody have expereinces with the PCI-E cards? I also have Windows Vista SP1 installed as well. Any difference really between the 2? Been experiences issues with crackling with my current Audigy...

sub 1k receivers?

The new Onkyos are good. I have an Onkyo SR605 which runs under $500, depending where you get it. Agreed with above poster, AVS Forums is a great site for audio researching.

5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 speakers under 2k?

Wiring for speaker systems?

I have my speaker wire either running along the wall on the floor using nail-in clips to nail down the wire to the walls. Most ppl ask me where all the wires are? Once I get that question then I know I did a good job concealing them or make them not that noticable. I have a 6.1 speaker setup.
