6800GT problem

I am having an intermittent problem with Counterstrike Source and my 6800GT. Sometimes when I'm playing the game will just freeze out of no where. The video and audio of the game both freeze and nothing responds. I know this can't be a CPU issue because my music from iTunes continues to play...

Crappy CS:SOurce and other games performance

What's weird is this. I get the same FPS as the thread starter. However, the messed up part is I get the exact same framerates with 800x600 and no AA or AF! This tells me that I have a CPU bottleneck, but I find that hard to believe. My Athlon 64 3000+ should be able to run this game better...
