why hasn't anyone noticed that his steak references are horrible? The lowest one by his reckoning is the fillet mignon, but that's the best cut of beef you can get. T-bone is the top one lol, all his steak analogies are completely backwards unless he is talkin about size instead of quality...

well post your OC results here and maybe I can help you get a little more out of it. Like I said though if you really want to push it read up on volt modding. The extra voltage can give you some sick OC results. Try reading THIS article to learn more. morgash

you do need vista for DX10, but the 8 series cards play DX9 games better than any current cards out. So their advantage is you get a card that CAN use DX10 if you decide to get vista, but it can also whoop @ss in DX9 games if you don't want to go to vista right now. A 7950gt would give a...

unlocking a 6800XT help

if they give ya arts then you are pretty much screwed. It means they disabled the pipes cuz they actually didnt work, not just to make a 6800xt. The extra vertex may give a very slight boost, probably not noticeable, but you already have it done so just leave it on. Ocing will help a bunch...

are these temps normal for a 6600GT agp?

ummm if that is in celsius then hell yes that's WAAAAY too hot. At 125C you have probably done permanent damage to the GPU, especially if this has gone on long. With 4600 posts I would hope this is a joke thread. If not, your 6600gt is literally toast man, time for an upgrade. morgash

What purpose does the video memory serve on video cards?

as an example: THIS card would be much faster than THIS card despite having half the amount of total RAM. The first one uses much faster GDDR3 while the second uses slower and inefficient GDDR2 to cut costs. morgash

Plus there is the fact that alot of companies exploit people by making cards with more RAM, but they use sh*tty RAM that is much slower to cut costs. That is why you end up with 256mb cards being faster than 512mb cards. It's all a marketing thing because they know that someone who knows...

how am I in contempt of mod? I'm not doing anything, I simply complimented them on a great undermine of my thread. I would have never been that creative, I would have just left a mod quote. Instead of doing that though they just changed everything I said to make me look stupid and locked it...
