I'm having a very hard time making a decision about when to build a new PC, as well as what CPU I should get. For some background:
I currently have desktop with an i5 3570k and a gtx 960, which is really starting to show its age. I'm going to be moving in a week, so I was planning to just leave...
I'm really looking forward to launch. From a performance standpoint, I'll consider it a success if it has better st performance than sand bridge and has more threads than has well at a similar price point.
I don't know how well that would sell though.
Back when I actually played Titanfall a few months ago, there wasn't anybody playing the dlc maps at all. So I'm guessing they did this to please people who haven't bought any dlc, maybe trying to increase sales of Titanfall 2. But then, I'd be mad if I bought the season pass...
I'm in the same situation you are. I think you sum it up nicely.
Maybe tell your friend that if he wants a worthwhile processor upgrade he's going to have to go x99? Since it's the only thing I'd upgrade to, but, of course, is prohibitively expensive for a lot of people.
I think your choices are bad and you should feel bad /s.
Anyway, OT.
I basically only use my rig for gaming. I bought a 3570k two years ago, and I'm pretty happy with that choice, as I haven't felt a need to upgrade at all, even though the total cost of mobo + cpu + cooler was around $350.
In...
I ended up playing a bit, I got a ton of kill trades, especially with shotguns (either using them or killing people with them). Other than that the netcode usually seemed fine
I've discovered I can get the Benq for $15 more than the Asus ($280) on their site. My friend has the Asus and has claimed he's had multi monitor issues with his 7870. So I'm currently leaning towards the Benq... although is multi monitor a widespread issue?
Also, are there any good reviews...
I'm currently looking at purchasing a 144hz monitor for CS:GO. I live in the US, and my budget is ~$300, although I'd prefer to pay closer to $250 if possible. I'd prefer to purchase from newegg or amazon, but if another reputable site has a great deal I'm willing to purchase from other...
Toms was the site that really first introduced me to computer hardware four years ago. I still read it, but with a huge grain of salt - that specific passage you picked out especially stood out to me as a sign of corporate shilling. I do try to look at smaller reviewers - I'm a fan of...
Yeah I'm just sitting here watching/reading reviews... the 960 is good? like what?
I don't think the 960 is bad, I think it's pretty decent - for an entry-level card. This thing shouldn't be selling for more than $150 in my opinion, what with AMD having 3GB cards available to $200 or less for...
Here are 4k benches comparing the 280 and 960 from wccftech. Obviously take them with a grain of salt though.
Original source: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-960-radeon-r9-280-4k-benchmarks/
Assuming they're accurate, the 960 certainly suffers at 4k from a lack of bus width and/or...
What do you guys think of the rumored $200 price tag?
To me, it just seems too high for what the card is. I'd just pick up an aftermarket 290 for $50-70 more. To be honest, I'd be surprised if this card beats my OC'd 7950 by any significant margin, especially above 1080p. Have to wait for...
I know some people prefer the new Thief to the old ones, but then, those are people who aren't a huge fan of stealth and didn't like the original Thief games to begin with.
So if you liked the older Thief games, it probably isn't worth picking up the reboot.
