php caching problem

Please disregard this thread, I'm an idiot. It turns out the file was not getting overwritten because of permissions problems. Cron worked because I had it running under root. Sometimes I feel so stupid :P

What's the best download manager? One that lets me pick up even after uninstall

splitting the file up into rar files/or chunks of some sort seems the safest way. The reason for this is by the time you realize one of your download managers can't handle it, you've wasted days upon days of downloading for nothing.

Rotate a .3gp video file taken by phone

Anything that re-encodes the video (to a non lossless format) is going to potentially sacrifice the quality. FFMpeg does a great job with it, and there is a gui for it that offers a ton of options (including rotating the video) with a program called WinFF: http://winff.org/html_new/

I'm working on a problem where I need to be able to store a date (I just need the MM-DD-YYYY part) in 4 characters (string). Valid characters are only a-z and 0-9. Anyone have any ideas?
