I would prefer sticking to the topic of the medical benefits of marijuana and misguided policy on that substance. But . . . I like the History Channel as much as anyone. But it's a bit 'truthy' for anyone to say our prohibition policies are intimately linked with the plight of white women...

Where to RMA, vendor or Asus?

I have a problem with an Asus A8N-SLI. Mobo would go into boot loops etc. couldn't find drives, now it wont even POST. Should I RMA this with the vendor, ChiefValue or directly with Asus?

HD just disappeared.

I've been having trouble with a new install of windows. It locked up during the install, I rebooted and it continued. I was able to get into windows for awhile and setup user accounts, install drivers etc. For some reason it named the HD, a 74G raptor, as G and called the DVD ROM C. As I was...

I put together my new machine and tried to install WinXP Pro. The first problem I had was that after booting it would not give me the "insert system disk and press enter" message. It would just stop after going through the IRQ list. I solve this by going into BIOS and changing the boot...

PSU wire order (do blacks matter)

I am sheathing my psu cable and am doing the floppy connector on the end of the chain. From the front the red is on the left and the yellow is on the right, but do I need to keep the two blacks straight? Both are just grounds, right?

Legacy power on a SATA drive?

Does using the legacy power connector instead of the SATA power connector on a SATA drive, a 74G Raptor to be specific, affect the way it operates? If not, why did they bother designing a new power connector?

A8N-SLI on board sound VS. SB Live!

I am building a rig and have limited funds right now. I plan to upgrade bit by bit so I don't plan to buy a new sound card. I have an Asus A8N-SLI. I also have an old, circa 2000-2001, Sound Blaster Live! that was on my old computer. Which one would be better, the SB Live! or the on board...

Need Suggestions for Large Flatbed Scanner.

I need a large scanner for scanning in photos and old historic documents which cannot withstand the trip through a feed type scanner. The higher the dpi the better. Any suggestions on make/models?

Canon IP 5000 vs Canon IP6000D

I found it interesting that no one has mentioned the i9900. How does it compare to the iP5000? Why would Canon come out with the i9900 if its based on "old" technology. Its a 2 picoL system also. What is the advantage to the i9900, the 13 X 19 size? Or is it a better printer than the other 2...

Viewsonic LCDs the best?

Well, I went back to BB today. The monitor I saw is a VX910. The other monitors were MAGs, LGs, a Westinghouse:confused:, and several Samsungs including a 912n and a 213T. They had them all connected to the same source, looping through a series of images. The Viewsonic still looked better...
