The ASUS has fan control out of the box and does not need any editing of profile or BIOS flash for the same like other manufacturer's cards so. There are basically no difference in the cards right now as all of them are reference designs. So, go ahead and order :)
Is it only AC ? Did you try 3DMark 06 just in case ? Friend had a similar issue where Crysis, 3DMark 06 kept crashing. The only thing that helped was a complete OS reinstall :P Working absolutely fine after that. Oh, btw he did move from a NV card (8800GTX).
Strange - Just 221. Check if the floppy disk is enabled in the BIOS coz' disabling that causes some issues with OC'ing. Also set the HTT Multi to 4x manually. And why have u pumped so much volts already ? Go back to 1.40v and start giving more volts only if needed.
Whatever has happened, has happened. Don't live in the past. Don't keep thinking whether to buy or not. U'll most prolly end up not buying or wait for a new tech to arrive and keep waiting. Get the following NOW :

U have to do something abt the OS. Using the same OS would mean that device drivers from the old MOBO would still be present. Same happened to me when I got my A8N-E. I completed the rig late in the night and was feelin' lazy to install the OS. Tried installing the drivers and started using the...
Using A64 will not affect ur Memory speed during boot up. A64 affects the memroy speed only after u log into Windows and change the setting. I've been using the 183 divider for quite sometime now and have never experienced any issues.
Then it should be the memory that is the culprit here. Since urs is Value RAM, it may not do 240 MHz. So its better to use the 333 MHz divider and raise the FSB a few notches ( till u hit a wall ) so that the RAM runs at its rated 200 MHz. U could also try to find the limit of ur RAM. Reduce the...
Go To Advanced ----> CPU Configuration ------> DRAM Settings (or) Configuration (not exactly sure if its Settings or Config). That's where the MEM timings and speeds are.
Then try the Auto setting and up the FSB by maybe just 5~10 MHz and check if the PCI bus speed increases or not. Also make sure that the Floppy Drive is enabled in the BIOS coz' this board seems to have an issue with OC'ing and the floppy drive disabled.
Same problem that I had. This happened twice to me - No boot and long beeps. The problem, that I found during the second time this came up was that my ASUS StarIce cooler wasn't properly seated. I removed everything, cleaned the thermal paste, applied fresh paste and used my stock HSF and it...
U'll have to set the PCI clock to 33.33 in the BIOS. Go to Advanced ----> JumperFree Configuration and under that the last option would be the one for the PCI bus. U'll have 3 options - 1. Auto 2. To CPU and 3. 33.33. Change it to 33.33 and ur good to go. It's the PCI-E bus which is...
