I picked up a cheap adata 512gb ssd locally with a gift card we had. Total into this 248 with tax. I'm satisfied. Don't need cutting edge anything. That A10 just has not aged well.
Ended up finding this at target of all places for $228. Can throw my GT 640 in it and be well off enough for awhile.

We're getting a little too expensive here. I'll revisit after there's a little more cash saved up. This machine will have to do for the time being it seems.
Unless it's a dual link DVI monitor, that is easily solved with an adaptor. If it is a dual link, that might be a bit trickier depending on what you end up with.
Not without serious compromises, and you simply can't get -any- GPU right now. So it's pretty much a non-starter.

So, it's been awhile since I upgraded. Currently running a 9850 Phenom in an Asus M2N-SLI board. 4GB DDR2, Galaxy GeForce GT640. Antec 430 PSU. 300GB SATA hard drive which I think is starting to go. Best buy this week has a 1TB WD Blue drive for $40 which I think I'm going to order...
Red Wings aren't local here. I would assume the Penguins would be blacked out which is fine.
I think we are gonna go ahead with the FireTV/Plex/Netflix/Hulu route when we do it. I told my wife I'd like to wait until the Steelers season is over so I won't be messing around with all this...
Oh and just for the record I do appreciate all the input. If/when we do this it's going to be a large change from what we are used to, and we already have a plan b if we don't like it(switch to Dish as a new customer for the big discounts) but I want to try and make this work.
I think the...
