WD 160 gig hard drive trashed?

Anyone read either the Man-Kzin wars or the Star of the Guardian series?

Man-Kzin? Nope. Star of the Guardians? Just reread the trilogy, then the followup, then one of the Xris novels. So... yes. I wouldn't say they were the greatest Scifi, but they're an enjoyable read. I wouldn't mind being a member of the Order of the Dark Lightning (sp?), that's for sure.

I'm agreeing with the "Charmed"-esque viewpoint. I would also like to point out something at the very end of the article -- developed by television by the same genius who brought us Tomb Raider. 'nuff said.

How hard is it to convert a .net app....

Depends. :) If you're willing to install & configure mono, you should be able to use a somewhat substantial portion of the logic that you can get by decompiling the .net app. (Look up Anakrino for a good decompiler to C#). I'm not sure how complete the mono class libraries are -- you might be...

How do people drink diet soda???

So I gave up caffeine three weeks ago (the headaches the next few days were KILLER). And on a lark, I started noticing how many calories were in each can of soda I was chugging (when your office provides free drinks...)... and got real depressed. So I cut back. Not enough, but it's a start...

Oh wise ones! Where to find TV reviews?

Hi all - I'm looking to buy a new TV, but am stymied as to where to find reviews. I know where to find computer hardware reviewed, but... looking for a single TV review has been an exercise in pain. I'm looking primarily for standard TVs in the 32" range -- anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Sorry, guess I should emphasize that it's NOT a date. Have no clue how to do as much with her... Saying it would sound like I wouldn't want to date her (which isn't the case), but it's just that I'm not going at this as a "date me" type event. Just a "Pity the poor fool, go with me!" And hey...

best monitor connection option to CRT...

So I know my best bet would be DVI-LCD... but I don't have an LCD. I do have a new CRT with both standard VGA and BNC connections, though. So... I'm wondering what the best quality connection I could get is. My video card has both VGA-out and DVI-out -- and TV out, but I doubt that would help...
