Very curious... I reset the bios (flat screwdriver on jumpers for 3 seconds). I now have my monitor back. Before that, I attached my old VGA monitor with the DVI dongle on the second input, and it worked; but putting my DVI monitor on it didn't. And putting the VGA monitor on the first...

I forget the type of HDD, but it's a cheapy 10GB one from a while ago. Installed in another system, it worked fine, transferred back to that system, it didn't. There is another monitor, so I'll ask my friends to try it there.

Not really; We are both aware that XP needs to be reinstalled, and are trying that. But we can't get to the reinstall screen. The Windows CD loads up until it is about to switch to the Install screen, VGA white text against that famous blue shade. Instead of switching to that after loading...
