Need a bit of advice on a "Budget" gaming system.

Excuse my ignorance. On that computer you can just turn off the integrated graphics and add a video card??

About to put in my order.. 6800 Vanilla...

i bought the 6800 about 2 months ago and I think I paid 160 even for it. At 180 its a little questionable if its worth it IMO. It'll beat a 6600gt in every bench if I'm not mistaken. The 6800gt is almost always 280 plus in agp, so thats a totally different category imo.

Anyone still gaming happily on an older/low end card?

my older brother is on a g4 440 mx and he games alot (i'm giving him my old FX5900XT). Its funny to me that most all the people I know that play games have no clue about hardware and most have total crap gpu's.

Why does Quake 4 run so poorly on the Xbox 360?

i was at target last night and some kid was playing CoD2 on the 360 on probably a 27" widescreen hdtv and I thought it looked fricken amazing. But then again I don't play many FPS on my pc and I'm only running a 6800 :P

My Upgrade Dilemma

upgrading from a 6600gt to a 6800 would be downright silly, they are very close in performance. Your stuck man. Either buy a new mobo and go 2 6600gt's in SLI or buy one 6800GT/7800GT.

What cards are these? GeForce4 MX?

are you asking if they are geforce 4 mx cards or telling us? I use to have one and the pic looks about right but no way to tell for sure. Geforce 4 mx is like 4 generations ago and couldn't possibly play any new games and any decent resolutions/framerates.

ok - what is interesting is that when looking at your homecity, as in before you ever even launch the game, you get a pretty accurate idea of how many fps you will get in game. The difference in shaders from medium to high, only seems to affect water. But it has a big effect on water. I...

AOE3 Performance

man, after a little testing this game really made me feel like I didn't buy enough gpu :( Although a 6800 for $160 was cheap and finding 6800GT's for less than 280 is a chore, so I'll live with this socket 754 agp rig for the time being. Anyways - everything cranked all the way up on 12-10...

ATI drivers suck...(actually they don't, and haven't for a long time)

dug777, no offense but i'm sure i'm not the only one who is getting sick of your anti-nvidia, pro ATI posts lately. Ya, ya, ya we all know you have a 660gt and it sucks, but do we need to hear about it 500 times?
