Going to college

Yes you seem to have the priorities right - dont forget the battery life - my cheapo 3 year old dell inspiron 5100 with a P4 still gives 4 hrs+ while a brand new HP 14" widescreen Pentium M gives 2.5- 3 hrs at best. I have finally got the preferences right(but I am done with school after...

You can overclock it to an extent but it is limited by a voltage clamp at 1.45, which u can increase - only through a voltage mod though - something I dont have the leydig cells for... As far as Zebo's guide is concerned - is this the one you were reffering to...

Dell fraud

Could you be anymore prejudiced? If you are talking about not doing business with such companies - u just inlcuded Microsoft, Apple, Dell so on and so forth(and I have restricted myself only to comp related companies.) Oh and you must be making your own CPUs too... The truth is a lot of phone...

You have the XT though - is it known to suffer from similar heat probs? ... And I just noticed ur scythe ninja with 120mm setup... I dont know how close this fan is located - but if its close enough... it might be doing a lot for ur cooling(especially the back of ur VGA. Just curious - how...

I have been recommended this one before - does it support crossfire? Just curios - what do u do with ur Home theatre setup - do u have it in the living room or something. Oh I just noticed the projector... how is the picture output?

Video Cards Temperatures

I have a similar concern... idle around - 51 and load about 65 C. I have good case airflow though. I am seriously thinking of removing the stick HSF and either try lapping it or if that doesnt work - replace it with a accelero X2 or a zalman. I wish they had used a better cooling system on...

Thats very sad to hear about dell doing business this way. Personally I have had mostly great to good experiences dealing with them. I guess occasionally every company can mess up here or there. I had such an experience dealing with HP a year ago when my 2 month old laptop was having...

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 - Socket 939 with PCI-E and real AGP and Socket AM2 upgrade path

I have both SATA and SATA II drives running no this board without any hassle... and I am relative newbie to DIY computers. Must say this board is pretty good for a budget build. For a a first timer I had no problems at all. I did however research a little bit before installation.

Hard drive trouble

Thanks folks. I tried to search a bit - but as usual came up with strange results... in any I was too anxious that my new drive might be DOA - but thanks all the same.

Hard drive trouble

I installed a new 250gig(3g/s) SATA HDD in my computer previously running off a 74 g SATA raptor. But the darn drive doesnt even show up in my computer. It shows up ok in the BIOS. Also in the device manager... but no trace of it in 'my computer'. I re-installed the SATA drivers. No change. Any...

Help with slow bootup in ASrock 939-dual

It takes forvever for machine to start-up. The Bios screen stays for a long time... so does the blank-black screen after that. Once the windows logo falshes -its very zippy after that - 10 secs maybe. I have fixed the RAM issue in the BIOS. Other than this and the fact that I get very low scores...
