OSX 10.6.7 and PPTP VPNs

Brand new Mac user, sorry for the noob question. I've set up my PPTP VPN, but I am unable to resolve any machines on the remote (Windows) domain by hostname when connected. I can ping by IP and by its FQDN, but not just the hostname. What am I missing? When the VPN is connected I see...

GPS Recommendation - Details Inside

Shopping around for a GPS for my parents. The only special requirement is that there needs to the ability to switch the menus to Chinese as well as the spoken turn by turn (Cantonese preferred, Mandarin acceptable.) A bigger screen would be preferable, at least 4.3". Any recommendations?

Yeah we looked at the RX too, but after pricing it out online with the options we wanted, it got wayyy expensive. Styling-wise the RDX is still #1 for her and I'm also a fan of it.

My point was that SUVs are heavy vehicles, we want to be sure that it can move when we need it too. Higher insurance / premium gas / 5-8K more have already been considered. We understand that this is a luxury vehicle with a turbo.

Found this comparison site CR-V is missing a lot of the creature comforts, engine seems underpowered for an SUV as well. Though overall styling seems very similar, will make sure to bring this up.
