  1. Question All-in-one printer recommendation?

You could look at the Canon Megatank series. I have a G3200 and the amount of ink that it holds is astounding. If you're in the US, you can probably find one for around $180. I paid around $300 CAD for mine, two years ago.
  2. 4 years old with a Vista exp. of 5.7

I'm curious, Frangelina, what driver did you use for your Vista install? I have the same controller but am unable to get Windows 7 to even see it (though I am installing it after the Win7 installation, just to recover some files from a disk)
  3. Viewsonic VX2025 20" Widescreen

Ahh, thanks for the clarification, darkswordsman17. No screen door effect on this monitor, then (outside of about 2" viewing distance). I guess what I'm seeing is just the surface of the monitor. It's a very fine grain layer which everything sits behind. To tell the truth, I've stopped being...
  4. Viewsonic VX2025 20" Widescreen

I just bought one from where I work (currently testing on day 3 of a 15 day return policy)... This is my first LCD, coming from a 19" CRT at 1600x1200 (Viewsonic GS790), and I'm still getting used to it. I experienced extreme eye-strain for the first half an hour from what I thought was high...

  6. Digital camera "XD" cards -- what are they?

The disadvantages of using xD cards are that they're more expensive (though not excessively so, anymore) and are not as fast as some of the high-speed cards offered in the SD and CF flavours. If you're not doing high-speed shooting, you won't notice much of a difference while using the camera...
  7. Dual Power Supplies: Dual 485's vs one 600 ?

Hehe, and according to the PCP&C stats, you'd need about a 700W PSU to run all that within the 70% efficiency zone, lol.
  8. Dual Power Supplies: Dual 485's vs one 600 ?

I think it depends on what you mean by "fully loaded." Going by PC Power & Computing's Power Usage Page, if I take the minimum, stats on that page, I'd need 570 Watts minimum (after the 1.8 multiplier they suggest). For the maximum stats, I'd need 936! They also state "Furthermore, power...
  9. Dual Power Supplies: Dual 485's vs one 600 ?

I'm not sure what you mean by "dual psu cable" but I've been running two PSUs for about 6 months now with no issues. Both are ATX 350W and I spliced the green pin14 (Power on) wires together, so they both power up when the case button is pushed (make sure you have them both connected to a common...
  10. Which firewall do you use? (POLL)

    Sygate Personal Firewall
  11. Canon SD200 or Nikon CoolPix

Don't know if all these will apply for you but here are some bullets for ya... Pros for Nikon: -The Nikon will give you more manual control than the Canon. -Best Shot Selector (takes several shots and selects the best one). -In-camera Red Eye removal. -A little more telephoto (38-114mm...

Glad you're enjoying it, lucky you don't need the card reader, heh. :)

  14. Some digital camera questions...

I agree with the advice to always using max res. If you want to enlarge & crop a particular pic that might have surprised you in how good it is upon review, you'll be set. On 4MP(F) setting, you're at just under 2MB per picture. Probably about 140 pics on that card at max res & fine setting...
  15. Some digital camera questions...

Sorry Zepper, I have no control over that pic. That was a link to Steve's Digicams - A digital camera info & review site. I should have warned of it's size. I realize that the vignetting can be cropped out, I just hate telling half the story. I was going to buy the S5000, myself, until I...
