Fair price for timing belt and water pump change at Honda dealer?

For a Honda dealer, that is about right. For an independent shop, you can probably get it done for $200-300 less. Don't forget about valve adjustment. It should also include plugs, belts, and coolant. As others have stated, you probably need your tranny, brake, and PS fluid replaced as well...

Repair bill huge on my 96 Accord, help me see if their 'estimate' is out of whack

Suggest a degreaser(for kitchen)

Warm them up a little first, then the oven cleaner will cut through the grease easier. Not hot, just warm.

Oven cleaner will work. Stinky, but will work. I use it to clean off greasy car parts!

Good cure for discolored plastic molding??

Not kidding, takes wax off all the black plastics I have tried it on. Works especially well on those textured black plastic bumpers and trim. Even works good on rubber weatherstrip.
