having the darndest time....my external usb connections recognize the hardware when plugged in, but if i reboot the computer the devices are not recognized. my only fix is to un-plug the device (in this case my joystick, or ipod) and plug it back in.
thoughts?
thanks in advance
i have a noob question...
I have OCZ (2 x 1GB) DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 PC 3200 Platinum in a dual channel on an ASUS A8N-SLi mobo
lots of people talk about:
@ XXXMHz 2.5-3-2-5 or 2-3-2-5
I wasn't quite sure what that stood for. My guess is that they belong to the BIOS timings...
thanks very much mdchesne. as i stated, he has it setup using the absolute bare=bones minimum, the next step would be to remove the cpu and try jump-starting it to see in fact if it's the mobo. he has un-seated and seated the ram, un-plugged the power connectors (24 pin psu and 4pin 12v atx)...
helping a friend: ocz psu...one stick of ocz ram....cpu/fan.....case fans....no cards installed. the green light on the mobo turns on but the power supply does not turn on (no led, no fan) nor do the fans. interestingly enough, the power supply does turn on when using a paper clip to jump it...

NOW THAT"S WHAT I"M TALKIN" ABOUT!! nice nice nice, GuitarDaddy.....clear, concise, and simple directions.....presto magico, 2.75ghz!
thank you very much

temp: in the 32c - 37c range
score: 8044
for whatever it's worth, 3dMark05 would crap-out when either pushing my 7800 beyond 465 and 1220 or my cpu running at 2.6ghz (still haven't deduced to one of the two). anyhow, seems...
