Video Card Decision Time

Video Card Decision Time

I'm building a new PC and the graphics card choice is giving me the biggest headache of all. Reliability, heat, power consumption, noise level, size, performance (mostly business apps, graphics (AutoCAD, Adobe, etc), gaming compatibility (mostly Quake & Unreal...) and cost are all over the map...

wired and wireless users cannot see each other

Viewsonic 28" - Anyone Using it?

Viewsonic 28"

I'm pleased with my VX2835wm, but it's not a gaming or TV/video monitor for me. It works great for my purposes of viewing multiple documents, creating brochures and working with larger format drawings. Speakers are very basic ... at best. Requires plenty of tweaking to get it right but after...

which 28" monitor to get

I'm generally pleased with my VX2835wm. Requires lots of tweaking to get it right but after burn-in time it's quite good. Speakers aren't usable, there is no height adjustment and viewing angle is narrower than I'm used to ... otherwise it works great for my purposes of viewing multiple...

wired and wireless users cannot see each other

All the computers on my office network, both wired and wireless, are able to access the internet OK as well as the 2 networked printers, but the the PC's on the wired router cannot see the ones on the wireless one (and vice versa). I cannot figure out why and would appreciate any and all help to...

Best BIG 2 input monitor for documents work

I'd like a bigger monitor for 99% work usage = reading & writing email, Word and Excel. I'd like to be able to view larger side-by-side documents and fit bigger spreadsheets. Also would like 2 inputs like my Viewsonic VP191b has allowing me to toggle between two computers. Does anybody know...

Thanks, but I found a BH6 already and while I'll be using it for the quick fix ... I'm going to also look at bldg a newer WIN98 rig based on some other recommendations. BTW thanks tcsenter you nailed it. Cheers, PDQ

Thanks for the reference to Compuvest, while don't have exactly what I'm looking for right now, they look like a good source to keep in mind for future needs. My first shot is to replace MB only so that I can reuse everything as is and get this rig happening again ASAP so I can get some work...

How much does it typically cost to recover data from a HD?

Dinosaur resurrection / upgrade

I have to keep this old dinosaur PC running with it's current WIN98 OS and old vintage proprietary engineering programs and the Abit BH6 motherboard just kicked the bucket. Gotta replace 'er & wondering if I should replace with another BH6 (not easy to find) or perhaps look for a newer one...

Well, I took a magnifying glass to the MB and just found a burnt component that I'm sure is the culprit. Don't know why I didn't see it before, especially the discoloration on the backside. Sorry to have wasted some of your time on this but appreciate the help always available here. Now that...

Yes, reset/cleared CMOS via Abit jumper and pulled battery too. Gotta be da MB huh?
