Hey thanks a lot for the efforts! I'll mull it over, but I have the setup already put together, just looking for a CPU. It is an old (really old lol) Zenith Data Systems case with an old intel chipset socket 7 board. I think the highest it supports is an MMX 233 so thats why I was looking for...

I'm thinkin like $175 - 200. Thanks for the replies. I just went over to the reviews section and was looking at some of the info on the 6850 and 6870. Hmmm...that might be what I'm looking for. I really appreciate it!

Hey all. I have been extremely happy with my main system that I built like 3 years ago. It has performed really well and I haven't had a single problem. Q6600 2400+ @ 3000 ATI hd4870 512 MB MSI board 4GB DDR2 I don't run any of the latest games, but I do play Crysis, Dirt 2, LOTRO...

eMachines dual core (T4400) laptop $298 @ WalMart 2/28

After a bit of tinkering I've got her happily up to 3ghz. No sweat! Looking for more! Benches are now about 50-60% higher!!!!! YES I AM HAPPY!

Thanks for the replys so far. I guess I'll have to do more research, but I do appreciate narrowing my search down. As I said, pciexpress is foreign to me! I've been partial to ATI cards over the past 3-4 years, but I guess I wouldn't be opposed to Nvidia, especially if I heard some good...

New widescreen LCD resolution resets on startup

Hey all. Got a wierd problem. I just got a nice 22 inch widescreen lcd that goes up to 1680 x 1050 which is where I want to keep it. About half the time the screen will reset to 800 x 600 upon startup. Running a 3400 s754 on Win XP Pro with an ATI x1950 pro AGP. I've tried setting...
