A Legit Intel vs AMD gaming pc question.

Is Overclocking...Over-rated?

I basically like to overclock my system mainly as a hobby but also because in having a tighter budget. One of my favorite CPU's still is my old trusty C2D E6750. Ran that sucker stable @ 3.9Ghz (2.66Ghz stock) for quite a while. it was fun messing around with it and a real e-sport getting it...

Your current CPU - Is it time for Sandybridge?

Running an Intel C2Q 9650 @ 3.6Ghz for the moment. More then enough juice to hold off untill Socket 2011 =D. plenty of time to save up.

Stability Issues Q9650

Heya guys, for a while now, I clocked my quad back to 3.6 with one notch up from stock volt. but for some reason, when I have my external HD's connected, and turned on, and turn on my pc, it reboots to default settings (3Ghz). I do have to mention that I have 5 external drives hooked up...

1st overclock gone bad...HELP!

unplug all cable, inlcuding any USB cables if attached, take out the little battery (round button battery). leave it like that for another 3 minutes. Hoop up minimal of hardware to get started i.e. HD, keyboard, mouse, graphics.

I have a Phenom 710 BATCH 904 - cant get 4th core to show!

assuming your X3 might have a good working 4th core, is the same as assuming you are able to clock that particular cpu @ let's say 5GHz on air. unlucky draw seems the appropriate case here.

I am upgrading to a Q9650 from my e7200.
