You can always do a California Coast Trip anywhere from San Diego all the way up to Mendocino. You can narrow it down to maybe between Santa Barbara and Monterey, hitting places like San Luis Obispo, San Simeon (Hearst Castle), Carmel and Big Sur. You can always try to find a deal to Hawaii...

HOV/CARPOOL LANES: Why does one Adult + one Child = Two Passengers???

Well, if it makes you feel any better, if those parents with kids in their car weren't allowed to use the HOV/Carpool lane, then they would be clogging up the freeway even more making more traffic for you. But I guess, then you'd have to complain about being in traffic a lot more...

What if you have passenger who happens to be drunk? He/She's incapable of driving, so would you not be allowed in the carpool lane since the drunk driver is not legally allowed to drive? How about a passenger who's physically handicapped and incapable of driving? Them too? Get over it.

What is the maximum amount of cash you can deposit w/o filling out papers?

The bank doesn't really care where the money came from so you don't have to explain it to them. It's all for the IRS. They just want their taxes.

I think it really comes down to how people handle stress. That's why people always look back and say how "easy it was" or "why did we even worry". Plus, as you get older, you don't have the energy to do some of the things you did when you were young. On top of that, add some kids, spouse...

Agreed. I used to live there and it does not represent California in the least. Old Town is boring. The clubs are boring. The chicks overall aren't that great to look at. Definitely try to make your way into San Francisco (used to live there too). Have fun.

So what's the catch with Washington Mutal Free Checking?

The only reason why your deposit might not have shown up for days is probably because you deposited a large check and it had to be held. It is a federal regulation and not just Washington Mutual policy. Any other bank would do the same. They would make an exception if you had a long history...
