look here's the bad news, LATENCY. the lowest latency is in win98 first edition. and even that latency is suck. not just with the midi to audio but audio to audio if you plan on recording live to a pre-recorded track, the phase and timing is whacked. the best i have been able to do is record to...

yeah intel is more tolerant of environmental conditions. AMD is cheaper, but when you figure in the AMD approved power supply and the cpu cooler, the cost gets alot closer. my brand new t-bird is running stable at 1.5 ghz. Intel can't do that for the money. I just replaced my old asus p2b that...

Life expectancy of an Overclocked CPU

I have a 1.2 ghz 266 tbird on a iwill KA266r board the ram is crucial 1600ddr running at 2100 speed no problem, all on default voltages. got a real good chip cooler though. high voltages and temps is what kills the chips not multiplier or fequncy bus

Iwill KA266 (ALi MAGiK 1 chipset)..

The potential for problems lies in the chiset that the mobo uses not in the processor. If you go with intel cpu go with intel chipset. The VIA chipsets are in both AMD and intel. If you end up going with a VIA chipset for intel (there are good reasons for doing this), then reconsider AMD. I...
