    PLEASE!! Help

Driver indeed. On my TNT2/M64, Win2K found a driver for it by default. That driver did 2D well, but couldn't do 3D at all. To check, run dxdiag, click "display", and run the Direct3D test. -PJ

Windows XP Protection Being Cracked ALREADY.....

This crack was made on Windows XP build 2446. The current build is 2458, though I don't know how often they change this registration thing. I can guarantee that this particular crack will not work on final XP. -PJ

Help me make a procedure for building comps.

I'd simplify it a bit: * Assemble outside of case: MB, RAM, CPU, fan, display card, power-on switch, PSU * Adjust jumpers if necessary * Connect keyboard and monitor * Turn on, make sure you see BIOS, adjust BIOS settings (no overclocking yet) * Install MB in case (with RAM, CPU, fan still...

If you mean INTERNAT.EXE, it's the keyboard language indicator on the system tray. If you don't want it, disable it though Control Panel -> Keyboard -> something -PJ

Can I use 2 different monitors in a dual monitor setup?

In Win2K, you have to run both monitors at the same res. WinME doesn't have this limitation. -PJ

Win2k is insisting on putting in "localhost" as my pop3 server ???

Without AV, your Email prog downloads your mail from your POP3 server. In order to intercept the mail BEFORE it gets to the mail prog, NAV2000/2001: 1. Installs a mail proxy program, called "poproxy". This program: 1. 1. Downloads mail from the real POP3 server 1. 2. Scans it for...

How to tell if your case is AT or ATX?

If you get the screen " It's Now Safe To turn Off your Computer " screen then it's very likely that it's an AT. Not true. I've seen several early ATX boards do that too. The differences are: AT - Large keyboard connector - Connectors for PS2 mouse, COM ports, printer port, USB are...

SONY VAIO Laptop PCG-F350 win2k question

Check what BIOS version you have installed. Then, go carefully over the list of problems solved by later BIOSs. If none of these is relevant for you, go ahead and install Win2000. If any is relevant (say ACPI/Win2000), you'll probably run into problems, especially with model-specific software...

    Modem Drivers

After searching windrivers.com: 1. I hear all Lucent-based winmodems can use generic Lucent drivers 2. This one looks like a hardware US-Robotics modem. The driver is Somewhere around here - look on the modem itself for the model number. 3. Some Conexant (formerly Rockwell) - based Winmodem...

How do you change the "DEFAULT" home page in Internet Explorer 5x ?

The NVidia Chronicles: on what else can you spend your $599??

The mere fact that something it out there doesn't mean that you HAVE to buy it. IMO, if you buy this $600 card, you're one of the following: 1. Filthy rich 2. Stupid However, if nVidia wants to target the filthy-rich-or-stupid market segment, so be it. They also have great offers for reasonable...

Where is the Favorites Folder in W2K ?

In IE, you can export your favorites to a single bookmark.htm file. Later, you can import them. I think this is a better way of backing up. -PJ

onboard audio causes decreased gaming performance?

The mere on-boardness of the sound chip doesn't matter. I mean, an on-board SB128 is the same as a PCI SB128. However, since on-board sound tends to use cheaper sound controllers, they may cause a slight decrease in performance. -PJ

Why do mainboard sites seem so cheesy?

Because like it or not, motherboards are commodity items. The vast majority of them are marketed trough OEMs, who don't really need marketing-driven sites. I believe the market for retail motherboards is far smaller than, say, the one for display cards. Also, many OEMs use nVidia's name when...
