Questions about Win8 upgrade ???

The upgrade is supposed to be for machines already with XP, Vista, and 7. Note that on Vista though, the upgrade will not migrate programs. Only settings and data. So, you are just about starting over. That being said if you are starting with a blank drive, the upgrade apparently does not...

Gave windows 8 a proper try, still sucks

If you say only enthusiasts even bother to tweak, then there are lots of them out there because the default browser in Windows has barely over 50% market share on the desktop. How about media players, file managers, archive managers, and so on? I find it hard to believe that nobody ever uses...

With Windows 8, Microsoft is essentially giving you a 2nd operating system. I doubt they will add a 3rd OS in Windows 9. No, they will not remove the 2nd one in 9 either. So, there is no way they can give you more for your money the next time. Windows 8 underneath is now a mobile OS...

Why Windows 8 will fail for tablets

The appeal of course is that you can run Windows applications. Even if you have WinRT, you still get the desktop versions of IE and Office. For people who just buy computers and never install anything, that is enough. For those who buy x86 tablets, they are obviously getting real Windows...
