problem child of a pc

i know this may sound silly, but once i was getting similar problems and i found that as i was attaching the motherboard to my atx case, i had an extra screw that was touching the current lines on the motherboard (that melted aluminum thing) which at times caused random shutdowns, sometimes it...

Sound Blaster Audigy: Still Good?

Do u use a 2 speaker system ? i for one run on a 5.1 speaker system and as good as the onboard sound might be, i dont believe the motherboard comes with enough I/O ports for me to plug my speaker cables into... i might be wrong i dunno !

First time build, seeking feedback

I would get a different case, STEEL is probably the worse material you can get... i had a steel case once it gets SO HOT its not even funny, find urself an aluminum case you wont regret it. Im using a Thermaltake Kandalf the super tower. and it keep things cool like a breeze. I realize this...

As for the motherboard, i dont really need all those USB ports, and i run a 5.1 surround sound with my Logitech Z3 and my Soundblaster Audigy Gaming series sound card. So i dont think spending that extra 25'ish bucks is worth doing, but thanks for helping out. I've never really read anything...

New Build ... Revised!

Right now im running on a p4 3.0GHz with 2GB of Corsair XMS RAM with ATI X800pro... Which at the time of purchase was insanely fast, CS runs at aronud 80fps, source 35-45fps, and TF2 aint so good either but my world of warcraft craps out at 10fps in very busy areas like battlesgrounds or crowded...

Hmm you guys think it's worth getting HDD Heatsinks ?. i've never had a 10,000RPM HDD, im not sure how hot those get lol.

Awesome guys ! thanks for all your help. BTW .... im not 100% sure which RAM im gonna go with, i think im leaning towards the SUPER TALENT as opposed to the G.SKILL. and im going to go with another graphic card that DSF reccomended to me a few days back ...

I cant read the info on my PSU without having to take it out.... so i looked it up online, here is the link to is Ultra Xconnect PSU 500Watt. Do you think that will be enough for the parts listed above ?

I like the RAM you posted DSF acutally posted that same chip on my last post a few days back... I'll definatelly look around for an 8800GT or GTS for a cheaper price. Im not 100% sure what the Amps on +12 rail(s) on my PSU is atm, im at work but ill post this once i get home. Thanks to you...

Im keeping those from my old rig, ive got a nice Thermaltake Kandalf Aluminum Case, and a sweet PSU where the cables are unpluggable from the PSU unit itself so it prevents cable clutter.
