People posting on the gaming forums are totally different breed from the guys here. They are actually far worse over there. Most of them are quite extreme in their views, and often seem to be only a little more mature than children. The worse of it is that the majority of them steal games and...

Wow, it looks like Nvidia put a gun to your head, and threatened to rape your family, unless you bought their products? Cut this bullshit. If there are people willing to pay $500 for video cards, then it is OK for Nvidia to sell them at that price.

I am sorry, I think I was confusing CUDA with PhysX. The 4870 seems to be coming in 512 and the GTS 250 is in 1GB. That probably won't make a huge difference I suspect on his 17'' monitor though. I live in Asia, and can either get the XFX 4770 512 or the GTS 250 1GB for about 15 dollars...

Samsung is offering a swap - should I take it?

Congrats OP. You made me log in. I had the T220... and it was absolutely terrible!!!! It has a nice gamut for a TN, but the accuracy is poor. There is terrible uniformity... I am a graphics designer and that was just a bad monitor. It looks really good aesthetically though.

I got the "Dell S2409W" yesterday and if you look at my post history, I have never been satisfied by the numerous monitors I have purchased. This however, is *fantastic*. The viewing angles are the BEST I have seen on a TN panel, period. The colors are above average, the contrast is excellent...

Getting a new sound card - Creative X-FI Xtreme or Titanium & how useful is the onboard memory on sound cards?

I got the X-Fi Ti (normal version) the other day, and the installation was seamless. Creative have come a long way in their driver support.

ATI 4890 vs nV GTX 275 reviews

Dude I know you have a GTX280... but seriously, you are making yourself look like an ass here. The GTX275 beat the GTX280 quite obviously.
