i have a raid array on a promise controller, and thinking of buying a new motherboard with built in raid will everything be fine? if i use the onboard controller. i figure all the information is stored on the hd anyway, but just making sure. also, i feel like blowing some money today. check...

yeah i have a decoder but currently win2k doesn't do ac-3 output and i hate having to dual boot 98se supposedly sp2 was supposed to be able to do ac-3 output thanks

beos, why did i install it again?

is there a hardware compatibility list somewhere? and i don't suppose that dvd player supports ac-3 output does it? and how's the installation work if you're drives are on a promise controller thanks

cd rom drive not booting

What would make a computer not boot from the cd-rom drive? I've checked the bios, tried settings like cdrom/a/c and d/c/a <-its drive d. the cd's fine, and bootable, as it works in my other comp. and also, if i boot with a dos boot disk, i can read the drive through dos. thanks

Poll: Which TI Calculator Should I get?

kylef i'm surprised you like the ti-85/86 interface better than the 89's i personally feel the other way. i like the menu system of the 89. it feels more natural, and out of the way too me, and the bottom of the screen is saved for status conditions. but to each his own i guess =)

if you're an engineer you most definitly need the ti-89 i love this calculator it does differential equations, calculus, everything plus there's circuit analysis programs you can get for it. its great, well worth the money

How secure is Win2k Pro if your not running a firewall

if i were to guess i would say my linux box is directing all traffic to my machine. telnet/ftp/etc.. not just ftp if that helps. i can't even telnet into it, so i have to go dig up a old monitor. icq: #13359037 aim: dr steelface
