Since there's a lot of cryptos out there these days that use GPUs/CPUs to secure their blockchains, I'm curious if this has caused a decline in DC participation rates since maybe people might rather mine than contribute to DC?

Definitely agree with you there. As the adoption phase ramps up and market cap increases it will get harder and harder to move the market and volatility will decrease, it's already less volatile than it was at a 1Bil cap, at 11 now, and at 100 it will be even more stable day to day.
